History of Miami Monthly Meeting

Miami Monthly Meeting has a long history, having been established in 1803 when Friends living in Bush River, North Carolina, wished to leave their slave-holding home for a free state. This history is outlined in detail in the Waynesville Area Quaker Settlements and Slavery and Miami Meeting articles.

Currently, there are five articles concerning Miami's history. You are also welcomed to view the video, Walk in the Light: A History of the Waynesville Quaker Historic District on You Tube.
