trusted God to sustain the strength of love within him, so that his words might "answer to that of God" in those who sought to suppress him and the nascent Quaker movement.

I know that I'm not as secure as Fox was in that life and power; few of us are nowadays.  But I'm grateful for Fox's words, for my growing understanding of their meaning, and for the work of Spirit within me, which is moving me little by little in that direction.  I'm also very grateful for you, dear Friends of IYM, for traveling with me on this journey of discovery and 

Reflections on March 2003 Draft Counselor Training Workshop

Springtime in St. Louis is one of my favorite times. There is something special about the light… so much energy in the air. It was the perfect setting for the draft counseling training workshop, which was offered by our IYM Peace Resources Committee on March 15, 2003. I had not planned to write about my experience as a participant, but two weeks have now passed and the sense of needing to put my thoughts on paper continues. I must tell you that I did not know what to expect when I registered, but even so the day was full of the unexpected.

First, the size and depth of the Draft Counselors Manual overwhelmed me. I could relate to former literature students, those not strong
