The dates for the summer
workcamp on Pine Ridge Reservation are July 20- August 16 and the cost

Associated Committee of Friends
on Indian Affairs

I attended the Associated
Committee of Friends on Indian Affairs (ACFIA) Meeting on April 5, 2003
at the Sycamore Friends Meetinghouse east of Kokomo, IN. I had last gone
in 1995 when they met at Wilmington, OH. Many of the same faces were
there, plus new ones. Some centers have the same directors (like
Victor & Brenda White - 15 years in IA, and Brad & Christine Wood
at Kickapoo) while others have more turn-over of directors/pastors.
The presiding clerk (Joyce
Hollingsworth, who was director at Mowa Choctaw the 2nd year IYM sent a
work group there) included in her written report, the basic purpose of
ACFIA as listed in the Operating Manual. #1: to bear testimony to the Christian
faith, principles, and teachings by word and deed. #2 to advocate integrity
in all phases of the administration of Indian Affairs. #3 to encourage
all Native American Indians to value their heritage. #4 to assist those
with whom we work, to build a |
