Latest news : water project in Gwanda

One of six pilot tanks which are being constructed by Hlekweni in partnership with the farmers in rain starved Matabeleland South (Gwanda) with the help of the German Development Service (DED).

This tank will harvest water from the roof and from the ground area of the homestead. Rain tends to fall only occasionally but in large amounts so without such measures most of it is lost.

Rains are expected in November. There has been no rain this year in Matabeleland South since January.
