Quaker Quick Notes

Quaker Quick Notes is an opportunity for Meeting attenders to "speak truth to power" by writing and sending letters on topical issues.  This letter writing typically happens on the fourth First Day after Meeting for Worship.

The Swarthmore Monthly Meeting Peace and Social Concerns Committee selects a topic each month such as: Creating a Peace Tax Fund, Ending the War in Iraq, and Banning Land Mines.

A sample letter is provided, and the resulting written letters are either hand-delivered or mailed (en masse) to the offices of elected officials.

Topics generally focus on proposed legislation and highlight Quaker principles of concern often using Friends Committee on National Legislation www.fcnl.org   or other Quaker organizations as research sources.
