By
car:
Follow Route 320 South as it veers right at the first traffic
light. Two blocks later, just after the crest of the
hill, turn right on Elm Avenue. This is the
North Entrance to Swarthmore College Campus. There is a sign noting the Swarthmore Friends
Meetinghouse at the corner. In two more blocks turn
left on Whittier Place through the stone gates.
Shortly, you will see the Meetinghouse on your left
set back on a circle drive. Parking is available along
the circle drive and at two campus parking lots off Whittier Place.

By
train: The Meetinghouse is reachable by the R3
SEPTA Regional Rail. The Station
is at the south end of Swarthmore campus.
Walk north through the campus to the Meetinghouse. (see campus map.)
General directions from afar: Swarthmore Meeting is located 11 miles southwest from
Philadelphia.
- From the
NORTH (New Jersey Turnpike or I-95)
Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 3 and follow the
signs to the Walt Whitman Bridge.
- Take I-95 South, pass Philadelphia International
Airport and continue to exit 7, I-476 (Blue Route)
North/Plymouth
Meeting.
- Take I-476 North to Exit 3, Media/Swarthmore. At
bottom of exit ramp, follow sign for Swarthmore by
turning right onto Baltimore Pike. (See
below for ". . . the rest of the way.")

- From the SOUTH (I-95)
- Follow I-95 North to Exit 7 (in Pennsylvania), I-476
North/Plymouth Meeting.
- Take I-476 to Exit 3,
Media/Swarthmore.
- At the bottom of the exit ramp, follow
the sign for Swarthmore by turning right onto Baltimore
Pike. (See below for ". . . the rest of
the way.")

From the EAST (via the
Pennsylvania Turnpike)
- From Exit 25A, Norristown, follow signs for I-476 South.

Stay on I-476 approximately 17 miles to Exit 3,
Media/Swarthmore.
- At the bottom of the exit ramp, follow
the signs to Swarthmore by turning left onto Baltimore
Pike. (See below for ". . . the rest of

- From the WEST (via the
Pennsylvania Turnpike)
From Exit 24, Valley Forge, Take I-76 East, Schuykill
Expressway, about 2 miles to I-476 South.
- Take I-476
approximately 17 miles to Exit 3, Media/Swarthmore.
- At
the bottom of the exit ramp, follow the signs to
Swarthmore by turning left onto Baltimore Pike.

- Take I-95 South. Continue to exit 7, I-476

The SEPTA R1 Airport Express train runs from Philadelphia International
Airport to Center City Philadelphia commuter stations, with connections
to the SEPTA Media/Elwyn R3 rail line to Swarthmore. The Airport Express train runs
every 30 minutes from 5:09 a.m. to 12:09 a.m. Ticket machines are
located on the train platform at the airport.

(AMTRAK & SEPTA) |
The College is readily accessible from Philadelphia by train. Amtrak
trains from New York and Washington arrive hourly at Philadelphia's 30th
Street Station. From 30th Street Station, the SEPTA Media/Elwyn R3 rail
line takes 25 minutes to reach Swarthmore. One-way tickets cost around $4
when pre-purchased at a ticket office (more at peak hours and when
purchased on the train). The last train to Swarthmore from 30th Street Station
leaves at 12:09 a.m. on weekdays and at 11:26 p.m. on Saturdays and
Sundays.
