Current Projects The Board of Directors of QWI and the Community Baptist Church in District Heights, MD are pleased to announce an invitation to volunteers to help rebuild the Community Baptist Church which was destroyed by fire just before Christmas 1997.

About the Workcamp

Volunteers will be needed weekly from June 17th through August 12th 2000. Our workcamps start Saturday afternoon for registration, orientation, and getting to know one another. On Sunday we worship with the church members and usually share a meal with them. Monday through Friday we work on the church. Following dinner we worship, sing and play as a community; non-work activities are planned with church members or by our staff. On Saturday, following our closing group worship and clean up, we go home and make way for a new group of volunteers arriving that afternoon.

Why week-long workcamps? If we run weekend workcamps as well as week-long workcamps, we do not have enough housing or feeding space nor enough staff. Our staff get little time off as it is. Please do not ask to come for less than a week. Staying for more than one week is fine.
