Northampton Preparative Meeting
Minute adopted February 14, 1993
Mindful of the suffering of people in Bosnia and the slowness of
the international community to respond,
- We take the responsibility of initiating action in the
Northampton community to sponsor Bosnian refugees.
- We ask the Northampton community though its worshipping
communities and other community organizations to join us in this
effort.
- We encourage communities in other cities and towns to do the
same.
- We ask the community to join us in petitioning the Federal
government for a substantial increase in the number of Bosnian
refugees admitted to this country. We ask the Federal government
to take the initiative in encouraging the international community
to open its borders to refugees from the conflict in the former
Yugoslavia.
