From the Editor Dear Friends, Our Summer, 1997, issue of Peace Team News was the last one edited and (mainly) written by Sandy Schwartz, who has moved with her family to the Bay area. We are deeply grateful to her for her work with Peace Team News and with Friends Peace Teams Project. She is sorely missed. I have agreed to edit this issue, and am willing to work on future ones, but hope that another person will come forward to be the editor. As Co-clerk for Friends Peace Teams Project, I am already responsible for answering correspondence and maintaining the office which has moved to my house in San Antonio-quite enough for one volunteer to do. So if anyone is inspired to step into editing Peace Team News, please come forward. While there is no remuneration for the job, one gets to read a number of newsletters and magazines about peace team work, and to contact Friends and friends involved in this work. Basic computer and e-mail skills are needed, and the capacity to meet deadlines. I hope that a functioning Publications Task Group will be able to assist the editor as well. In this issue, we will revisit some of the projects that have been covered before, and other work being done by Friends (mainly) in the peace team field. Since Summer seems a time to travel, attend Yearly Meetings and attend to Friends Peace Teams Project business, there will be reports on these efforts. Finally on a personal note, I will be co-leading a CPT delegation to Chiapas, Mexico, in late November and would be delighted if FPTP folks would come along. (See Volunteer Opportunities).
