What is appropriate to post to the Yahoo Group
The Yahoo Group is a form of communication used by the Strawberry Creek Monthly Meeting. As such, the messages posted to that group should pertain to that community. The basic rule is, if it is appropriate for our announcements after meeting (or appropriate but too insignificant for the time allotted), it is appropriate for the Yahoo Group. Subjects that fit include:
- Activities the Meeting (Montly, Quarterly, Yearly) sponsors, such as Friendly Sevens, Weddings, Retreats, etc
- Life changing events within our meeting, such as births, deaths, etc
- Spiritual, philosophical, and social justice issues that we have invested in, such as climate change, peace, end of life issues, child rearing, etc
- Quaker Classified Ads, such as:
- Job postings and requests for help in job searches
- Housing opportunities or requests for housing opportunities
- Requests for tools to borrow
- Items for sale or give away
- Fellowship opportunities -- Friendly activities with which you’d like some company
When you reply to a message posted to the Yahoo group, please reply to just the poster, unless your message is truly for the whole meeting.
