BERKELEY FRIENDS MEETING

ADULT EDUCATION COMMITTEE

This committee has responsibility for the ongoing education of members and attenders of the Meeting. The Committee
provides opportunity for timely discussion of issues and of concerns of members, and helps newcomers understand Friends'
faith and practice. This is usually accomplished by setting up formus and discussion meetings and study groups/

For a few years now the Committee has presented a program several times a year called "Introduction to Quakerism
for Newcomers" based on a course developed at Pendle Hill.

In past years at least one member of the Committee on Ministry and Oversight was required to be on the Adult Education
Committee. This practice was discontinued about 1995. (From the Meeting's Procedure Handbook)
